Building Occupii From Frustration to Launch

Changing the way we Occupii space

Small Business Problems…

As a small business owner, there was one problem I constantly battled with — gaining real local exposure without breaking the bank.

Traditional display advertising always seemed off-limits. It was expensive, dominated by the big brands, and impossible to access on realistic budgets.

I remember thinking about secretly putting up posters or banners around town… I never did because it felt unprofessional, risky and it certainly wouldn’t represent my brand well.

I kept asking myself:

Why isn’t there a platform where I can legally and transparently pick a location, set a budget, choose exactly how long my advertising was displayed.

That question became the seed of Occupii…

Dreaming Big — Without a Clue

Two years ago, I stood in front of a whiteboard and wrote down everything I envisioned Occupii could be.

I mapped out a platform that would feel premium, simple, and powerful — with user experience as priority number one.

But there was a problem… ⛔️

I had no idea how I was going to build it.

I approached a software development company, only to be quoted £25,000+ for a basic first draft.

That wasn’t an option.

So I found another way.

I Decided to Build It Myself…

I committed to learning how to build Occupii from the ground up — even though I had never written a line of code before.

– I studied different programming languages.
– I researched endless tech stacks.
– I obsessed over design, UX, UI, functionality, and long-term scalability.
– I listened to podcasts from the top engineers and founders in the world.
– I did online courses while travelling for my other business commitments.
– I read books I barely understood — and stuck with them until I did.

It wasn’t easy. I had to fully understand it, its strengths, its limitations, and its potential.
And slowly, brick by brick, Occupii came to life not only for advertising but for any unused space.

Making it real.

One of the defining moments was when a local school trust saw the vision and started listing its facilities on the platform.

That was the moment I knew — Occupii wasn’t just an idea anymore. It was real. It had momentum. It had purpose.

Occupii is now available to anyone who has a space to rent — or is looking for one.

Whether it’s a sports hall, studio, warehouse, pop-up retail space, photo location, office, workshop, or community venue, Occupii makes it possible to book or list space easily, transparently, and on your own terms.

A Final Word.

I’m incredibly proud of what Occupii has become — not just because of the platform, but because of what it represents:

Persistence. Belief. Ownership. And building something that truly helps people.

If you’ve read this far — thank you. Your support means more than you know, and I genuinely hope Occupii will one day be a springboard for your future success.
